Xi’an, China, May 22, 2017 – CityOn. Xi’an Shopping Center welcomed a group of budding newsboys and girls aged three to eight, who donned red caps and vests to sell newspapers to shoppers as part of a charity event. The 54 newsboys and girls are children of CityOn.Xi’an consumers. The charity campaign is hosted by the Xi’an Newspaper Red Vest Distribution Internet Corporation, who provided over 700 copies of Xi’an Evening News to the kids at the price of 0.3 Yuan. The children sold the newspapers for RMB 2 Yuan and could keep the profit to buy gifts for their parents.

The activity attracted a great amount of attention in CityOn and the 700 newspapers were sold out within one hour.

The shopping center, jointly developed by Taubman Asia, the subsidiary of U.S. Mall operator Taubman Centers Inc. and Wangfujing Group Co., Ltd., China’s largest department store chain, recently marked the one-year anniversary of its grand opening, which took place on April 28th, 2016. Targeting the middle and upper-middle customers, with a particular focus on families, CityOn.Xi’an is a world class one-stop shopping mall with a rich line-up of fast fashion, restaurants, cinema and exciting entertainment facilities. Hosting the “I am a newsboy and newsgirl” activity is at the heart of what CityOn is about.

CityOn.Xi’an had already introduced special and original children activities, with the launch on July 2^nd 2016 of the CityOn Little Talent Recruitment Summer Camp which quickly became a popular destination in Xi’an. Throughout July, the summer camp offered a series of activities allowing children to experience the different careers offered in CityOn Shopping Center.
